  • 9999 Damage/Healing Limit
Equipping a weapon with "break damage limit" seems to allow your magic to break the limit in addition to your attacks, but for items it appears you're stuck. Items don't seem to be capable of healing more than 9999 damage regardless, so characters with very high maximum hit points may find healing rather difficult.

  • Response: Ribbon?
    You need 99 Dark Matters.
And a patience of gold for that matter since you can only get them by either killing Monster Arena creations or bribing some random monster (about 1400000 for 2 Dark Matters)...
    Good luck...

  • Re: Ribbons etc.
I did notice that the Dark Matter description was incorrect about customising, no matter though, as most people will learn for themselves soon enough.

On the subject of Dark matter, the fastest way to accumulate it is to beat up on Pennance's arms. It keeps track of each arm you kill, and for each one you'll get one dark matter, or on a rare, a master sphere. you can then flee when you think you've got enough, if you don't want to/aren't ready top kill pennance propperly.

This method is more for completelist gammers like myself though, who're doing it for the sake of having all characters kitted out perfectly... as beating up on pennance requires characters that are already very tough (and preferrably already have ribbons...)

As mentioned, Dark Yojimbo is your best bet... kill him a few times (but not all), then run back to the save sphere, save, load, and repeat

you need fortune spheres to activate a luck node. they are quite rare but you win them from the earth eater at the monster arena.

  • useless
did anyone else find it funny that the description for a 'Useless' item is 'There seems to be some use for this...' I guess the keyword is 'seems'.. anyway, great site!! very informative. and the navigation is very easy, unlike most walkthroughs that are just written in text files.. and this one seems to have everything too.. i will definitely be consulting this site for a full ffx-perience.. hehe.. notice the pun..
