Ultimecia is really simple to beat. I read in some other walkthroughs etc. that she was incredibly difficult to defeat. Seriously? The final form only used two attacks against me in the whole fight, and the first form never attacked me at all! I was really surprised it was so easy.
I runned lots of sites just to look for minor information, and when I found this one I just said WoW! This site it's just fu*ki*g great it has every thing a person need! My congrats for the excellent site and keep up the great work!
I was just wondering when a walkthrough and secrets is gonna be finished. Because this is my favorite game and I'd like to know if I missed any secrets.
I was in the middle of the walkthrough, but it's gonna be a while before it's completed cause I'm into FFX-2 right now. Once that section is up then I'll come back to FF8.
Since this whole thing started because I was frustrated with other FF8 guides, it's kinda ironic that FF8 will be the last to get a walkthrough (until the next FF comes out).
I've got the gyst of what to do on this quest, like losing what card to who gives you what card, etc, but from all my hunting on websites, I sitll don't know how to get started on the quest. I've won almost all the GF cards, and all Player cards except Kiros, Laguna, Irvine and Squall.
As for Bahamut, I'm gonna challenge him within the next few days, IF I win, I'll tell email you right away.
Dr Slice, just a note... I've found that you can rarely encounter Chimaeras in the Dingo Desert (D-District Prison desert area of Galbadia) on even Disk 1 of the game. If you run around in the desert long enough, you'll eventually encounter one, although they're just as tough as usual. (I've found this very helpful for getting Squall's Twin Lance early on.)Thanks for the incredible sites, these make looking up enemy/item/etc info a piece of cake, when before it was a piece of s**t. Keep up the cool work.

Thought I'd post this for those who want to know.
Odin
Odin is a special GF, similar to Phoenix or Chocobo, but can not be summoned by an item or using the GF command. Instead, he appears randomly at the beginning of Battles (not Boss battles). He uses the Zantentzuken attack, which slices through all enemies. To obtain him, visit the Centra Ruins. You have 20minutes to make your way to the top until you see a gargoyle above a door with one eye (run from all battles). Take the eye, and climb further up the building. You'll be on the dome-shaped roof, climb up to find another gargoyle. Insert your eye, and you will be given a password. Take both eyes, and return to the other gargoyle. Place both eyes in and enter the password. You will then open the dor and face Odin. Odin will not attack until the time limit runs out, but when he does, he will kill your entire party.
In the final battle with Seifer on Disc 3, Odin will attack Seifer, and be killed. Gilgamesh will take his place. Gilgamesh has four swords, and will select one at random to attack the enemy. Like Odin, Gilgamesh cannot be summoned, and will appear randomly throughout a battle. His swords are:
Zantentzuken: Slices through all enemies
Excaliber: High damage to all enemies
Excalipoor: Low damage (0/1/2 HP) to all enemies
I don't know the name of the fourth one, but he uses it the first time he appears to remove Seifer. It blows the enemy away (no EXP awarded).
i need help with ultimecia's castle it seems like no matter how much i run around i still cant find the room with the paintings i searched on the net but could no find out how to get into there or how to find the prison room.

just gotta say thanks for putting up this great, accurate site. it has saved my eyes and sanity from searching through the strategy guides for items and what they refine to many a time, and i hope it stays up to help me in the future ;)
GOD!!! OMEGA WEAPON IS SO HARD!!!ITS MY FIRST TIME TO DEFEAT IT!!!REALLY HARD!!! I GAME OVER MYSELF MANY TIMES WHEN I FOUND OUT YOU NEED TO USE HOLY WAR OR HERO OR INVICIBLE MOON OF RINOA.

ilove this game it's got the best ending out of ff7 ff8 and ff9 but i got to ask how much damage does eden do at lv 100 with full boost and sumags learned
how do you beat griever he's f***ing hard cause he uses shockwave pulsar most of the time and kills your gfs sometimes do you have to kill him with your strongest magic i'm asking cause i started the game yesterday and i'm at the end of the game i've beatin her pets she sends out and i've got all the gfs who are al lv 100 but eden is lv 50
Well, this is what I do:
1) Kill off all my weak party members (so that you can give all your GFs to three members)
2) make sure that Squalls HP is yellow and that he has Lion Heart.
3) Keep attacking until Greiver starts to charge the first Shockwave Pulsar then get all 3 members to begin to summon your weakest GFs(DON'T USE SQUALLS LIMIT UNTIL THE FIRST SHOCKWAVE PULSAR BECAUSE IF HE HITS LION HEART GRIEVER WILL INSTANTLY USE IT :S)
4) After your GFs get used as meat shields constantly wack Greiver with limits, he'll be instant killed by Lion Heart at this point.

i killed omega weapon in one hit it was tough though, i tell you how to beat him use THE END!!!!!! on him and there you go the FUCKERS dead what a BASTARD he is first he used lv5 death it killed everyone but selphie that made me mad so i cast triple on her and then used triple haste on her the triple aura on her and then went on to slots and opened the playstation lid and omega couldn't attack again i was looking and saw THE END and killed him he attack selphie took her down to 1 hp and she used auto potion wich was an x-potion, the thing that took her health down to 1 was i think terra break or mendigo flame i'm not sure.AND PLEEEEEEEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANSWER MY OTHER QUESTIONS
i started ff8 yesterday like i said, i beat omega weapon i didn't know who he was when i heard of him but i found a walkthrough of how to battle him, i can't remember the guide, honestly i hadn't played the game ever until yesterday. also i know what the ending like cause i saw my brother on it, then i bought it online at ebay.
If you ever get bored you should add to the spell section the effects they have when junctioned to the different stats, cause I'm OCD and I like to know stuff like that.
This is so frustrating. I'm on the 2nd disk when the garden is split into two groups, and my game freezes when I try to go into the library or go up in the elevator which you must do in order to progress. What should I do?
just saying somthing at random but if you need easy AP go to cactaur island. each cactaur is worth 20 ap. thay can be a pain in the ass to kill and they always run away but if you junction 100 firaga to elem attack and something to stat attack like 100 zombie, or 100 death and set ability to str+20% and str+40% and auto haste you can usually kill them in one hit. if youre crafty enough like i was, i got roughly 5000 to 6000 damage per hit. ;)
I have no idea how to beat Seifer at the end of the 3rd disc. Can anyone help me figure this out please?! I watched a youtube game on how someone else did it but...didnt quite understand...someone please help?
